So here it is...
...After 12 gruelling months, which now seem to have passed in a flash - just like every other year - Twenty Twelve!
Congratulations on making it this far and here's wishing you the best for 2012.
While most might have made some personal resolutions and others probably don't believe in doing something like that at all, I think there are a few simple things that, if followed, could make life easier (for both of us, baby!).
So here's introducing the BASICS:
1 - Be nice. It doesn't cost at all. And quite surprisingly, doesn't hurt either. Tried and tested.
2 - Be giving. Don't enter with a barter mindset. Giving can single-handedly give you so much peace, even resting can't. Step forward and GIVE.
3 - Be-er. Since to 'Er(r)' is only human. Well, mistakes are okay - they help you grow. I know someone who has "Takes" for a surname. His daughter will be addressed "Miss Takes". It really is okay.
4 - Be positive. Failures can do you so much harm, all the earthquakes, floods, tsunamis put together can't. Just like you won't give up on a video game after failing to clear a level. You know what I'm talking about.
5 - Be true. Face it. So what? Embarrassment? For how long? 2 days, weeks, months? And then? Free soul!
6 - Be friendly. Make friends wherever you go. And keep them. Treasure them. They're precious. And a few years down, you'd smile looking at the pictures you have of them. And will be amazed at how many people you know are there, who too look at the pictures they have of you and smile. Friendship is great - and that's the bottomline.
7 - Be loving. LOVE. Go out and love people. Who said it's supposed to be two-way? Let go of that ego and love like a freaking idiot. Been there, done that. It is an amazing feeling. Gives you a high. Do it. Go. Now!
8 - Be-atles. Yes, listen to music. Listen to good music. Not just The Beatles - Explore. Learn the art of manipulating yourself with music. Music makes you a better person. It has the power to fill your stomach when you're hungry, to energise you when you're exhausted, and suddenly give you humid eyes when you're mopping the floor. Use it to your advantage and make things better for yourself.
9 - Be understanding. There can be very few things more irritating than someone who claims to understand you, flying off the handle while riding a bike. Since all it does is, leaves you wounded and hurt. Maybe putting yourself in his/her shoes might tell you how bad they smell. Do that. Or buy similar shoes.
10 - Be merry. There's a strange balance they maintain here - short, little spurts of happiness and prolonged periods of unhappiness. So let the latter occur at as rare intervals as Possibility has ever known. Misery anyway shoos people away. So unless you're aiming to do that... In Merriness We Trust!
And about the world ending on December 21, 2012... Well, if only they had let the Mayans complete their calendar.
Live. Love.
